Crufts is the greatest dog-show in the world with entries around 25.000 dogs each year and attracts visitors from all parts of the world. People from the continent have waited a long time to participate and have only been able to show at this prestigous show since the Pet Travel Scheme was implemented a few years ago. This is what makes Crufts so interesting and the title so much sought-after.

Skye Terriers were judged by Bob Cross, a former Skye-Terrier breeder (kennel Tarskavaig) and long-term member of the board of The Skye Terrier Club.

This year 2 bitches from my kennel were shown at Crufts. My young drop-ear bitch "Skyeomania´s Imogen" owned by myself and the silver prick-ear pick-of-the-litter bitch from my famous H-litter, "Skyeomania´s Hallelujah", exported to Finland and owned by Kirsi Sainio/TuulaSorakari/Tuula Taipale.

Imogen placed second in Limit Class, a remarkable success under a judge known for his national consciousness and pride. Hallelujah, a multiple champion and top-winner in Scandinavia, and for many spectators the anticipated BOB winner was placed 5th standing behing a line-up of British Skyes. My compliments to Kirsi for the great sportsmanship with which she took this decision of the judge.

Both bitches got very positive feedback from the other exhibitors and spectators. Thank you everyone for your kind words!

We enjoyed meeting up with friends, the shopping and the atmosphere at Crufts. On top of all I was once more the most successful non-UK exhibitor at Crufts!

We had a great start into the show season 2010:

International show in Graz, Austria:

"Skyeomania´s Jonquil", first time out and shown in Puppy Class: "very promising" and BIS Puppy 3 !

"Skyeomania´s Habakuk" (owned by Eva & Hans Leberbauer), shown in Open Class: CAC, CACIB

"Skyeomania´s Imogen", shown in Intermediate Class: CAC, CACIB, BOB

I took some new pictures of my youngsters "Skyeomania´s Jerome" and "Skyeomania´s Jonquil" (Skyeomania´s Elliott x Elanor Sirion). They are now 8 months and have developped really well...

Loli Vico Jimenez, owner of "Skyeomania´s Hosannah" (call-name "Fosca") is sending greetings. Thank you Loli Vico for taking so good care of Fosca. She looks super.

 

We had GREAT success at the World Dog Show in Bratislava!

4 Skyes bred by me were shown, and all 4 were very successful.

"Skyeomania´s Ilbert", placed "excellent 3" in Junior Class.

"Skyeomania´s Dorian" won the Veteran Class and was WORLD VETERAN WINNER and BOB VETERAN and was also shortlisted in the BEST VETERAN competition of the day!

"Skyeomania´s Imogen" won WORLD JUNIOR WINNER in females and also BOB JUNIOR!!!

"Skyeomania´s Glenmorangie" placed "excellent 2 & Res. CAC" in Champion Class.

We can truly be proud of these wonderful results in so strong international competition at the World Show! The remarkable thing was that all my 3 drop-ear Skyes placed so highly! Thank you judge Robert Kanas!

Some pictures of our short holiday at the Normandy coast. My Poodles also enjoyed  the morning walks on the beach.

 

3 of my Dachshunds (see names below) took part in hunting tests and examinations for breeding, and of course all passed with excellent results. Working judge was Mr Franz Grundner seconded by Count Wurmbrand.

Skyeomania´s U-Tax Theo, black-and-tan male (Ultimatum vom Golf x Golden Dakshaund Ch-Blackberry)

Skyeomania´s Value Added Tax, chocolate-and-tan male (Skyeomania´s Tax Tuxedo x Golden Dakshaund Ch-Blackberry)

The location was the grounds of Count Wurmbrand.

 

"Skyeomania´s Venjamin Tax", vulgo "Venja", and his owners Anna&Tommi Berg participated successfully at the 3-day centennary show in Wels, Austria. What a joy to see my boy again. He was exported to Finland as a puppy and is co-owned by Ulla Björkman and her famous "Unita" kennel and Anna&Tommi Berg. "Unita´s Charmeur, vulgo "Sulo", another star from Ulla´s kennel and also owned by Anna&Tommi was here too, and had excellent success, winning even CAC in international competition.

 

I am very proud to announce that my multiple Champion "Skyeomania´s Dorian" won BEST IN SHOW for the second time at the annual Terrier Specialty Sachsengang, Austria. There were around 300 exhibits from 23 terrier breeds coming from 8 different countries.

My drop ear youngsters "Skyeomania´s Ilbert" and "Skyeomania´s Imogen" each took the Junior Club Winner title and "Skyeomania´s Habakuk" and "Skyeomania´s Herzliebchen" each took CAC in open class.

Dec 2007 LKA Championship Show in Birmingham, England:

Dorian wins CC and BOB and gains his UK Championship. He is the first and only Austrian dog (all breeds) to ever achieve such honours! (see: shows & successes)
